Allen Lane are supporting a Local Authority on their recruitment for an interim Litigation Solicitor. Seeking a qualified legal professional to provide cost-effective, high-quality legal services in planning and regulatory law.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle a diverse range of legal matters, offering advice and drafting contracts, agreements, and deeds, with a focus on planning and regulatory law.
* Conduct legal research and provide guidance on community protection, licensing, environmental health, regulatory law, and local government matters.
* Prepare reports and attend committee meetings as required.
* Draft and review legal documents, including instructions to Counsel and other key reports.
* Represent the authority in legal proceedings, including court cases and planning inquiries.
Required Experience & Qualifications
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
* Law degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent, with eligibility for a practicing certificate.
* Knowledge of local government law and regulatory frameworks.
* Experience handling planning and regulatory legal matters.
* Proficiency in drafting legal documents and advising on complex legal issues.
* Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
The position requires court attendance (typically twice per month).
