Job Description The Programme Management Office Manager will be responsible for ensuring Infrastructure Directorate Major Projects are compliant with MOD and Government policy and processes, maintaining accurate records and reports, and will provide internal assurance activity in line with governance processes. The post holder will build positive relations with other programme management teams and key stakeholders across the project delivery community. They will manage the Major Projects Annual Budget Cycle reports and returns, assisting in the production of necessary artefacts to support Naval Base submissions. Person specification With a proven background in governance and stakeholder management, the post holder will be responsible for the management of the Infrastructure Directorate Programme Management Office. Relationship management skills are key, and the post holder will be able to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. They will have experience in collaboratively working with leaders and other key stakeholders to support the major project team in the successful approach to programme and project approvals, governance boards and other key meetings. Excellent communication skills are required, written and verbal. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage competing priorities and identify programme risk, raising risk and issues with the Senior Project Manager for escalation or guidance in a timely manner. They will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and associated applications and will be willing to undertake training opportunities that support the team and develop their individual professional skills and knowledge. A manager of people, they must be able to contribute to the development a small team and will be responsible for the direct management of an administration support officer and an apprentice. They must be able to deal with all HR functions, recruitment, performance, attendance and discipline. Qualifications This role is aligned to the Project Delivery Capability Framework and requires a minimum UK Regulated Qualification Framework – Level 4 qualification (or level 3 plus extensive relevant experience at the discretion of the recruiting Line Manager) preferably in a Programme or Project Management discipline.
