About the area The Environmental Science Department, located within the UWA School of Agriculture and Environment (SAgE), manages the Master of Biotechnology degree and its specialisation of aquaculture/aquatech. The School provides broad-based undergraduate and postgraduate programs with solid foundations across disciplines to offer solutions to challenges facing industry, our communities and our environment. The school is looking to build further capacity in the area of aquaculture and aquatech. About the opportunity At the undergraduate and postgraduate level, lead curriculum development in aquaculture/aquatech, coordinate units and deliver world-class teaching Supervise Honours, Masters and PhD research students, develop new research in the discipline and strengthen collaboration among researchers Further develop the academic oversight of the aquaculture facility. About you A PhD in aquaculture or in a related field (eg. environmental or agricultural science, biology, chemistry, ecology, genetics) with a focus on aquaculture and/or experience with aquaculture industries. Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), course design, coordination, assessment, and student support services. Experience supervising Master’s and Honours students on aquaculture production and biotechnology projects (aquatech, Environmental Biotech, or Agricultural Biotech). Developing publication record (against opportunity) and collaboration network in research and development with industry and/or research organisations. Demonstrable record of being an effective and collegial team member.
