Overview of role: We are offering a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard Apprenticeship at Rufford Primary School, allowing you to earn while you learn. As an apprentice, you'll receive training, achieve nationally recognized qualifications, and benefit from coaching from industry professionals. The role involves supporting teaching staff, working with pupils individually or in groups, assisting in lesson planning, and occasionally supervising classes. We seek a positive, team-oriented candidate committed to helping every child reach their full potential. Key details: Hours: Monday to Friday (8.30am to 3.30pm), 32.5 hours per week Term-time only (39 weeks per year) Wage: £6.40 per hour. This will increase to £7.55 in April 2025. Location: Rufford Primary School, Bredon Avenue, Stourbridge, West Midlands, DY9 7NR Apprenticeship details: Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification Duration of course: 16 months Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated No 1 Training Provider in the UK ) All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside role. Full Duties and Responsibilities: Make a substantial contribution to Individual Learning Plans and their implementation. Use specialist skills and training to support bilingual/multilingual pupils in accessing the curriculum. Support pupils with communication and interaction difficulties (e.g., speech and language delay, dyslexia, dyspraxia) using specialist skills and training. Assist pupils with sensory and/or physical impairments by developing and implementing structured learning plans. Support pupils with cognition and learning difficulties by encouraging engagement in planned activities and modifying tasks as needed. Use specialist skills to support behaviour management for pupils with emotional, social, and behavioural needs, including developing strategies and monitoring progress. Provide feedback to pupils on their progress and development. Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations. Promote independence and implement strategies to encourage self-reliance and achievement. Provide pastoral support to pupils. Supervise and support pupils excluded from or not following a normal timetable. Develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements and support distressed pupils. Facilitate the smooth transition of pupils between school phases and reintegrate absent pupils. Liaise with feeder schools and relevant bodies to gather pupil information. Assess pupils' needs and contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Observe and report on pupil performance. Manage challenging pupil behaviour effectively. Provide pupil information to external agencies as required. Design and produce worksheets or administer coursework with minimal supervision. Undertake complex marking of pupils' work in line with school policy. Conduct joint home visits as appropriate and in line with policy. Implement and evaluate specific curriculum plans and activities tailored to individual pupil needs. Contribute to curriculum planning. Assist in identifying and planning for pupil progress.
