My client is a food manufacturing business with multiple sites in the UK.
Description
Support the FMCG Food Procurement manager in creating, inputting, and recommending a Commodity Risk Management (CRM) plan for the defined area, which the leadership team can approve.
Responsibilities
1. Support the Procurement manager while owning a defined area.
2. Ownership of the movement of PPV vs Budget and clear understanding of the drivers.
3. Managing raw material & finished goods by placing purchase orders to suppliers to ensure 100% OTIF to customers using appropriate tools within the business.
4. Close out accounts payable queries to reduce the outstanding invoices for your defined area.
5. Reviewing and drafting supplier contracts to provide beneficial terms.
6. Drafting and executing RFIs and RFQs, finalizing recommendations for sign-offs before implementation.
7. Source new suppliers, de-list non-performing suppliers, and provide a clear plan for your suppliers using the vendor management process through Grow, Maintain, Decline.
8. Input into the annual budget process and identify risks & opportunities. Take action to minimize risk and optimize opportunities.
9. Create category efficiencies that align with procurement processes and policies while managing internal stakeholder engagement.
10. Finalize claims with suppliers leading to credit notes to recover losses.
11. Request new supplier setups through the master data management process.
Profile
To be successful in this Category Buyer - Food (FMCG) role in Leicestershire, you will have:
1. FMCG Food Manufacturing Experience.
2. SAP/MRP/ERP experience.
3. Ability to negotiate successfully with suppliers.
4. CIPS or willingness to work towards CIPS.
5. Experience in supplier management.
6. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
