Senior Clinical Psychologist – Older Adults Specialty Band 8a – 0.5 WTE (Temporary position until the end of July 2025)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical psychologist with experience and enthusiasm in working with older people, to join the friendly and supportive Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team (RITT) across Lancaster and Morecambe in Lancashire. The RITT team provides a variety of approaches to support older people with complex mental health issues, with the aim of reducing the need for hospital admission where possible. A specialist care home liaison service is also provided to nursing and care homes.
The psychology post within the RITT team involves direct and indirect psychological assessment, formulation and intervention, consultation, training and supervision of psychology and non-psychology colleagues.
Additionally this post offers some flexibility to continue to support RITT clients, who have complex care needs, for longer term work within the OA CMHT.
The successful applicant will be working with the multi-disciplinary team and team manager to continue to develop a high quality, community-orientated service for older people. The successful post-holder will also be working alongside other clinical psychology colleagues (including the complex case lead).
The post is professionally attached to the locality older adult psychology team and wider network, both of which offer a friendly and supportive space, with a strong commitment to providing quality services for older people in Lancashire. The Trust is also committed to staff development, and have invested in on-going training and development opportunities including funding recent further therapy training and leadership courses.
