Our client is looking to recruit an individual on a substantive full-time basis (10 PAs), although applicants considering part-time would be considered. The successful candidate will join a team of 9.35 Consultant Pathologists in a modern Cellular Pathology Department.
The post holder should have the following:
Educational and Professional/Occupational qualifications:
1. Full specialist registration with the General Medical Council (or eligible for registration within six months of interview)
2. Any UK trained applicants should also hold CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview
3. Any non-UK trained applicants will be required to show evidence of equivalence to UK CCT
4. FRCPath or equivalent qualification
Training and Experience:
1. Attendance at appropriate professional meetings and courses
2. Management of a wide range of Histopathology and non-gynae Cytology
3. Evidence of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and commitment to these within the Trust
4. Understanding and experience of performing audits during general professional and higher specialist training
5. Awareness of basic research methods
6. Familiarity with evidence-based practice
The successful applicant should also have the ability to communicate with colleagues and users of the service, including patients and their relatives, experience of supervision of trainees, and the ability to lead the development of services and promote best practice amongst colleagues in a changing environment.
