Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a range of Clerical and Administrative support, including:
* Being the central point of contact for requests from a range of people including patients, consultants, medical staff, managers, and staff at all levels via telephone, email, and face-to-face.
* Use multiple electronic systems including the electronic booking systems, to process patients' appointments in the required time frame.
* Ensuring clinics are utilised and appointments are booked appropriately.
* Maintain the confidentiality of information about service users, staff, and organisational business in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (GDPR) and Caldicott principles.
* Observe all the relevant Infection Prevention and Control policies in carrying out their duties.
Person Specification
Qualification and Experience
* Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above - or equivalent qualification.
* Computer Literacy Skills and keyboard skills
* Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment
* Previous experience in an Outpatients setting
* Experience of dealing with confidential information
Skills and Attributes
* Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to communicate with staff at all levels, including Consultant medical staff and senior administrative staff
Aptitude and Personal qualities
* Able to function effectively as part of a team
* Able to multi-task and prioritise own workload
* Able to show flexibility and adaptation to service requirements
* Ability to exercise initiative in delivering tasks
