Main Duties of the Job
To complete pre-planned maintenance and service of electrical equipment and engineering services within the Trust's establishments. A team member of a multi-disciplined workforce undertaking work associated with engineering plant, building fabric, and equipment to the estate within the Trust's establishments. Follow departmental and Trust operating policies and procedures guided by building and Health & Safety Regulations. Work closely with the Estates Officer but capable of working independently without regular supervision.

Job Responsibilities
1. To undertake planned and reactive maintenance.
2. To be responsible for tools, plant, and materials used within the scope of the Estates Department.
3. To ensure that safety procedures are observed in the use of plant equipment, materials, and working procedures, maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
4. To work outside his/her trade in the event of any emergency or as directed by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates/On Call Manager.
5. To assist with the ordering of materials for all types of maintenance work.
6. Respond to instruction given via the Estates maintenance reporting system. Complete any paperwork required to record time and materials used. Provide feedback to the Estates Officer on any further action required for the work to be fully completed.
7. To be able to drive and hold a clean current driving licence.
8. Any other duties as delegated by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates relevant to the post/department.
9. To participate in appropriate training as required by this position and determined by the Estates Management Staff.
10. To interpret technical information and operational manuals.
11. To prioritize own workload and manage responsibilities appropriately.
12. To assist and provide support for processes, policies, guidance, SOPs, and maintenance of Mechanical & Electrical policies, guidelines, legislation, and statutory duties.
13. To participate in the Trust's staff survey as required.
14. To ensure electrical inspection, testing, and maintenance records are maintained and updated.
15. To maintain and provide assurance reports on the status of compliance of electrical requirements and statutory duties.
16. To negotiate with departments for access to allow maintenance to be undertaken, explaining technical issues to non-technical staff.
17. To assist the Estates Officer in the maintenance of stock and supplies for the Estates Department.
18. To take part in governance training as required.
Person Specification
Education, Qualifications & Training
* Apprenticeship time served as a maintenance electrician.
* City and Guilds & NVQ (or equivalent trade certificate).
* 18th Edition Regulations.
Experience
* Recent and significant post-qualification experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.
* Experience of working in a team.
* Experience in an appropriate electrical maintenance role.
* Additional relevant trade experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Electrical installation and maintenance skills.
* Familiarity with the current Edition Electrical Regulations.
* Experience working on large electrical systems.
* Observation and awareness skills when carrying out routine periodic tasks regarding noncompliance.
* Ability to reliably work on own initiative.
* IT literate, including various types of software and network variants.
