Reporting to the Head of Finance Support, the role of Senior Finance Support Officer’s main focus will be ensuring that the personal finances of 2000 vulnerable adults are recorded and monitored to a high standard by all of Shaw Healthcare’s Services. This will be achieved by delivering regular finance training and carrying out audits on all the care services within the organisation. Objectives To make a significant contribution to the attainment of the group’s business objectives by providing a high standard of financial support, direction and control to all aspects of the business as requested under the direction of the Board. To ensure that a robust internal controls framework is in place across the group and that the business is subject to regular audits and training in these areas. Constantly endeavor to improve the cash flow position by project managing procurement opportunities and investigating and recommending best practice improvements to current policies and procedures. Practical Expectations Carry out remote Finance paperwork and on location Cash audits throughout all of Shaw Healthcare’s Services. Provide constructive feedback and challenge to colleagues on the financial consequences of actions and plans. In collaboration with senior finance colleagues, develop all necessary internal controls, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the group. Where required, deputise for Head of Finance Support in meetings and other stakeholder engagement activities, whether internal or external. Monitor external goods and services provided by suppliers and ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value and opportunities to the group. Assist with loss/theft investigations in the business. General Management Significant involvement with procurement tenders, working in partnership with the business to ensure that allocation of responsibilities is clearly defined. Working with the business to continuously develop, improve and deliver all relevant financial training. Assist with the monitoring the group’s financial risks, developing new strategies as necessary to manage these effectively, including but not limited to the development and implementation of an appropriate internal financial audit programme. Carry out any other reasonable duties which may be requested by the Line Manager in order to contribute to the attainment of the group’s objectives.
