Job Purpose:
We are recruiting a results-driven individual who strives to continually improve the performance of the production teams while adopting a safety-first culture. The Production Manager will build a team that takes pride in producing a quality product delivered to site to meet and exceed customer expectations. The Production Manager will have responsibility for all operational activities, so it is essential that they are a strong communicator with experience in people management.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Promote and manage a health and safety culture across the site, ensuring all activities comply with H&S regulations and guidelines. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
2. Ensure all products produced on and leaving the site meet the agreed quality standards.
3. Ensure the site operates at maximum efficiency and fully achieves production plans.
4. Ensure the site operates within budget requirements and targets.
5. Collaborate with all departments to develop a continuous improvement ethic focused on reducing costs and improving quality.
6. Maintain high employee motivation by working closely with staff to develop a communicative team where business performance and activities are transparent. Support and resolve any personal or work-related issues.
7. Lead and champion projects that improve site performance and employee engagement.
8. Create and present reports on site performance to all levels of the business.
9. Lead root cause analysis projects to resolve quality issues permanently.
10. Utilize KPIs to identify and improve production trends.
11. Manage material stocks effectively.
12. Maintain manufacturing compliance, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all employees.
Key Experiences:
1. Proven experience as a leader/manager or in a relevant role leading a team focused on manual processes.
2. Familiarity with company policies, legal guidelines, and health & safety regulations.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Good knowledge of IT systems.
5. Strong background in Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
6. Experience in driving successful improvement and change management projects.
7. Experience with root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes.
8. Ability to interpret and understand KPIs and data.
9. Desirable skills include ILM Level 3 in Leadership and Management, COSHH, and risk assessment training.
