We are seeking a HR Business Partner at our large manufacturing site in Torquay. As a member of the Torquay senior leadership team, you will be responsible for meeting business performance commitments to key stakeholders.
The HRBP helps to translate business needs into HR requirements and activities to drive and implement value-adding HR initiatives in order to build capability and increase organisational effectiveness and business performance.
The role will provide an HR business partner service to these sites to meet the expectations of key stakeholders.
The job holder is also a team member of the Global HR function and is responsible for ensuring relevant Group HR policies and global HR Ways of Working are adopted and maintained at Torquay.
The job holder will also act as HR function lead for assigned processes and manage the HR Advisor, providing mentoring support and development while overseeing the administrative function.
Responsibilities include:
1. Understand the people implications of the site business plans and translate into pragmatic options/solutions.
2. Deliver on both the tactical and strategic matters arising within the workforce.
3. Report on a suite of HR KPI’s and reports to meet business needs as agreed with HR Director & Site Leads.
4. Operate company’s ways of working to enable the identification and hiring (from within or outside the company) of motivated and capable people to fill key positions, ensuring onboarding and induction programmes are applied for effective integration into the business.
5. Manage the recruitment process for up to VP direct reports level.
6. Support training & development programmes in line with Site and R&D business plans.
7. Administer the company’s performance management programmes for the Torquay population.
8. Deploy the talent pipeline and succession planning process in partnership with Site and STG leadership.
9. Deploy the company’s employee engagement, communications, and retention programmes and measures as required.
10. Deploy change management processes in agreement with leaders to ensure consistency and excellent execution.
11. Manage employee relations matters to conclusion as required.
12. Provide robust advice and coaching to Site & STG management colleagues.
13. Oversee payroll data and administration to ensure timely payroll processing.
14. Act as HR function lead for designated processes.
15. Undertake HR function projects or support business improvement programmes as required.
Ideal candidates will have the following attributes:
1. Solid experience in HR management within a manufacturing environment; some multi-site, matrix organisation experience would be advantageous.
2. Experience of providing an HR service in a growth environment.
3. Demonstrable experience/potential of delivering on all responsibilities as defined above.
4. Able to quickly gain trust & respect of colleagues, with strong persuasive skills.
5. Hands-on, solid administrative skills and experience of working with HRIS and data provision to payroll.
6. Performance Management, and the ability to motivate others.
7. Practical, applied knowledge of UK Employment Law.
8. Full understanding of corporate HR strategy along with the tools and processes.
9. Success in developing and enabling the deployment of designated HR processes (for example, Recruitment, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Compensation & Benefits).
