Role Overview
The Sales Director will create and implement the overarching sales strategy, with accountability for the company’s sales performance and growth. Key responsibilities include:
1. Direct management of the company’s key national off-trade customers, including M&S, Majestic, Tesco and Co-op.
2. Growing sales in existing and new export markets.
3. Managing the UK sales team of six trade account managers.
4. Ensuring that production plans and sales forecasts are aligned both in the short term and long term.
5. Providing the Finance department with accurate sales information and forecasts to create key financial reports.
6. Working together with the wider management team to ensure that the company’s ethos, standards and culture are maintained.
7. After a successful probationary period, opportunity for the successful candidate to join the main board.
The Person
We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring salesperson who thrives in a fast-moving company. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable in creating an overarching sales vision for growth as well as being numerically and commercially strong.
Experience
The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:
1. A minimum of five years in a senior wine sales role.
2. Well-connected in the UK wine trade, with experience in managing national off-trade accounts.
3. Experience in export markets.
4. A track record of implementing sales plans and growing sales.
Location
An expectation to work from the winery in Kent two to three days per week.
Salary
Salary and bonus subject to experience.
