Responsibilities
1. Translate high level requirements through to firmware requirements.
2. Investigate preliminary architectures and estimates from initial concepts and specifications.
3. Formalise detailed designs using programmable logic specifications.
4. Carry out detailed implementation of RTL, constrained place and route through timing closure.
5. Derive verification strategies and schedules to address firmware requirements.
6. Develop test cases and procedures to verify that a design meets its specifications.
7. Design and utilise both unit level and BFM style verification test-benches to exercise RTL.
8. Produce documentation to fully support the design.
Qualifications
9. Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant engineering discipline, with significant demonstrable experience.
Essential skills
10. VHDL and/or Verilog
11. TCL/Python
12. ModelSim/QuestaSim
13. Full lifecycle FPGA development
Desired skills
14. Familiarity with MATLAB
15. Familiarity with electronics design tools (such as Orcad and/or Altium)
16. Experience with microcontrollers and standard bus protocols, including I2C, SPI, USB, PCIe
