Within Five Arrows’ private equity teams, the Portfolio Operations Group (POG) taskforce delivers operational expertise and industry knowledge to enhance the performance and value of portfolio companies by focusing on the activation of value creating levers throughout the investment lifecycle.

Position: Portfolio Operations Group Associate – Five Arrows
Contract Type: 12-month fixed-term contract
Location: Paris (France) or London (UK)
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with POG team members in various projects with portfolio companies to identify and implement operational improvements. Projects include post-merger integration, new product launch, tech-focused initiatives including GenAI, ad-hoc strategic or operational projects addressing key items of portfolio companies’ agenda.
* Assist in the development and execution of operational strategies.
* Conduct a number of analyses across portfolio companies: benchmarking across defined KPIs, consistency analyses of key dimensions (organization, tools etc.).
* Contribute to the definition of best practices in areas of key importance from an investor perspective, such as elements of reporting, board packs, governance etc.
* Manage and contribute to specific projects aimed at optimizing our support of portfolio companies.
* Ensure timely and effective project delivery in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
* Work closely with deal teams, either on existing portfolio companies, or occasionally to provide support on live deals, contributing operational expertise to assess the feasibility and potential value creation opportunities.
* Liaise with deal teams on an ongoing basis to ensure alignment.
* Contribute to internal reporting on POG contribution and improvement initiatives.
* Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders on operational matters.
* Actively participate in internal projects and activities supporting ongoing efforts to structure the activities of the fund.
* Collaborate on workstreams to enhance internal processes, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration across functions.
* Facilitate knowledge transfer and best practice sharing among portfolio companies.
* Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in operational excellence.
Profile
* Master's degree (Bac +5 or equivalent) from a business or engineering school.
* 3-4 years of professional experience in management consulting, private equity, strategic roles within large organizations, or chief of staff/project management roles in a start-up/scale-up environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of tackling complex operational challenges involving multiple stakeholders.
* Proven project management skills with a track record of driving initiatives to successful completion.
* Ability to work autonomously and deliver key parts of projects independently.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across various teams and functions.
* Proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
* Intellectual curiosity and agility.
* Fluent in both French and English.
