HSE Recruitment are working with a Global Manufacturing company who are looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to join them at their site in Sutton In Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.
Based on a small but complex chemical manufacturing site, you will be responsible for all health, safety, environmental, and process safety.
You will report into the site manager and have a dotted line into the Regional EMEA HSE Manager.
The role has been vacant for around 6 months, so there will be gaps that need addressing. You will treat it like a blank slate and focus on getting the basics right, followed by continuous improvement. One project in particular is reviewing general and COSHH risk assessments. A common-sense approach will be taken depending on the task that needs completing. It’s a high-risk site with a lot of hazardous materials.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining, implementing, and improving the EHPS requirements and advising Management on actions required.
2. Assisting management in defining EHPS objectives for your site.
3. Ensuring that all incidents and accidents are investigated and, where necessary, reported on the company portal.
4. Ensuring that all incidents and accidents are investigated and, where necessary, RIDDOR reports are written and submitted to the HSE.
5. Ensuring that all EHPS requirements detailed in the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy & Arrangements document are carried out.
6. Producing training presentations regarding EHPS requirements.
7. Ensuring compliance with the conditions of the Site’s Environmental permit and that staff are also trained on the environmental aspects of the permit.
What you are looking for:
1. NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum, but ideally working towards or holding your Diploma level in H&S.
2. Wider manufacturing experience required, but within that, it must incorporate COSHH/Chemical experience.
3. An experienced HSE Advisor/Officer/Coordinator or manager.
