Parachute Packer
Our client are global-leading ejection seat manufacturers, specialising in protecting the aircrew of state-of-the-art military aircraft.
They are currently looking for a Parachute Packer to join their team to assist with packing and repacking of both new and deployed parachutes/drogues to required specifications.
This role plays a critical part of the manufacturing process of the ejector seat, playing a key part in saving lives of aircrew.
Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 8am to 5pm Mon - Thurs & 8am to 12pm Friday
Salary: Up to £30k p/a
Key Responsibilities:
Pack parachutes and drogues in accordance to strict technical specifications
Carry out thorough quality checks, checking for flaws and minor issues and reporting when required
Prepare parachutes for loading into presses and utilising press to ensure parachutes/drogues are compressed in accordance to drawings
Record Batch numbers and complete history sheets
Contribute to development programmes on both working methods and specifications of head boxes, parachutes and drogues (inc prototypes)
Required skills and traits:
Previous experience in packing parachutes, i.e Armed Forces, Sky Diving
Engineering background with experience of working from technical drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail
Work well as part of a team
