I am looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join my client, a manufacturer of cutting-edge marine technology based in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the development of next-generation maritime systems. This is an onsite role based in Portsmouth; the successful Lead Electrical Engineer must have proven experience within engineering management.
Lead Electrical Engineer Package:
£65,000-£75,000 Dependent on Experience

Lead Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Lead the end-to-end design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control, battery management, and charging infrastructure.
2. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
3. Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to integrate electrical systems.
4. Take full responsibility for the performance and integrity of the electrical system.
5. Oversee prototyping and system-level testing to validate performance, safety, and durability.
6. Mentor junior engineers and help grow technical expertise within the team.
7. Establish and reinforce engineering best practices and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Lead Electrical Engineer Requirements:
1. A degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience in the industry.
2. Proven experience in electrical system design within the maritime, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
3. Skilled in electrical CAD tools.
4. Commutable to Portsmouth.
5. Solid track record of managing and delivering engineering projects.
6. Strong knowledge of battery systems, power distribution, and motor control.
