Keep an overview of the use and deployment of ward resources, to most effectively and cost effectively match resource to clinical need. To work with an allocated group of Service Users, developing treatment plans in a Primary Worker/Key Worker role, following the philosophy of the Ward. Inform all Service Users of their right to access their treatment plan, and to actively encourage them to read and evaluate their treatment plan. To work as an integrated member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, and facilitate effective team working. To take responsibility to ensure that all staff work to the same standards. To promote the involvement of carers, and refer carers to relevant agencies for support and to meet their needs. To ensure the effective implementation of the care programme approach, ensuring relevant and up to date communication between all those involved in supporting individual Service Users. To promote the role of the Service User Development Worker with Service Users, carers, and colleagues. To provide informed support to junior staff in carrying out their duties, and be open and honest in giving and receiving feedback to/from all staff. To actively participate in own development, and to contribute to the education and development of all staff, and be actively involved in Ward projects. To participate in a thorough induction programme for all new starters, ensuring a clear understanding is gained into their role and responsibilities, and of the expectation and philosophy of the service. To be involved in planning, providing, evaluating a therapeutic group and activity programmes as appropriate to the clinical setting. Ensure clinical and professional development needs are met by PDP process. To take an active role in the development and implementation of audit and evidence based practice within a clinical setting. Co-ordinate and provide student placements within a clinical setting. Maintain professional registration by meeting NMC standards and support adherence to these within clinical settings. To ensure that treatment areas and equipment used for clinical interventions are safely maintained and are in good order and condition. To work in an autonomous way with Nursing specific interventions based on clinical reasoning. Ensure staff comply with policy, guidance and information requirements
