An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic nurse to join the Jenner Institute at the Centre for Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine, as a Clinical Research Nurse. You will be joining a dynamic and diverse multidisciplinary team, setting-up and delivering phase I/ II clinical trials with the opportunity to work across a range of clinical and administrative research related activities.
Responsibilities include, conducting routine reviews of volunteers and the administration of novel vaccines. Ensuring the safe storage, administration and disposal of all products. Providing accurate information to participants with regard to their involvement in clinical research in order to facilitate effective informed consent, whilst ensuring the participant understands the nature of the clinical trial, risks and commitments required. Other duties will include providing a safe and welcoming environment for staff, participants and patients by ensuring equality and valuing diversity. Maintaining adequate supplies of equipment, both clinical and non-clinical to enable the conduct of the studies.
It is essential that you are an NMC Registered Nurse (Adult), with post registration experience in a relevant area of practice. You will have a Dip HE, BSc, BA or equivalent in adult nursing or other relevant subject. It is essential you have excellent written and oral communication skills, evidenced by the ability to explain and interpret procedures clearly and sensitively, and demonstrable evidence of good computer literacy (i.e., MS Office). You will also have evidence of venepuncture skills and practice.
