An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Rotherham Foundation Trust for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Band 6 within the already established Acute Oncology and Cancer of Unknown Primary nursing team. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will act as an advocate for patient care, providing seamless and timely management for patients who are diagnosed with cancer and/or those who have a suspected cancer. This fast-paced and varied role requires an individual who shows a methodical approach to patient assessment and will work alongside the Band 7 CNS and the wider team to support patients, providing an individualised plan of care, delivering a high-quality service and ensuring the service is accessible and available to give advice and clinical expertise to both patients and other health care professionals. We are looking for an individual to work alongside the existing team, who is caring and shows enthusiasm. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with both patients and the wider MDT whilst working cohesively within the Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. This unique opportunity requires you to be committed, organised, and an excellent communicator both verbal and written. You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. We are keen to invite to interview nurses who encompass the above and meet the essential criteria in the person specification.

You will work closely with the wider team and must be able to forge good working relations. Be able to provide essential data/audit collection to the Band 7 CNS and be able to present this information as requested to others. Act as an advocate for patient care, and be able to liaise with multiple professionals across both TRFT and other partners. We would welcome informal discussion with all candidates prior to application/interview.
