Are you ready for the next step in your career?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a deputy manager position within one of our established registered care homes across two houses.
You will be based in Crownhill, where you will be supporting adults with learning disabilities. There is a family atmosphere where no two days are the same and the people who draw on our support all have their own unique interests and hobbies.
MacIntyre is a leading national charity shaping inclusive and welcoming neighbourhoods where people with learning disabilities and autistic people are able to contribute, connect and lead gloriously ordinary lives.
You will work closely with the service manager and senior support workers to keep support fresh, creative and genuinely person-centred in line with our vision: for all people with a learning disability to live a life that makes sense to them.
As deputy manager you will help manage a staff team who provide 24/7 support. Working with the service manager, you will coach, mentor and encourage your team whilst providing a visible presence across the shifts*.
You’ll develop constructive relationships with external professionals, social work teams, families and the local community using staff’s gifts, skills and passions to promote our ‘Everyone Everywhere’ initiatives.
You will carry out supervisions and appraisals where you will support staff with their own career development and be a part of our local area on-call rota. You will also work closely within the management team across Milton Keynes and have support from our local admin team.
*Skeleton shifts are 07:30-15:00 (early) and 14:30 22:00 (late) but work times may vary to suit the needs of the people who draw on our support.
What we need from you
You will have experience of supporting individuals with a learning disability and/or autism and ideally will have managed a team before. You will be ambitious for the people who draw on our support and will ensure MacIntyre’s DNA and Leadership DNA are embedded in all that you and your teams do. You’ll be creative in your thinking and your approach to staff, the people we support and their families to inspire and motivate.
You’ll understand the intricacies and challenges of the sector, including CQC standards and compliance, and be flexible and organised with a positive approach. Attention to detail is essential, and good Microsoft Word and Excel skills will be beneficial as MacIntyre moves towards a digital care record system.
You must be a driver with a UK manual driving licence as you will be driving the service vehicle.
