The Role As a Category Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the Supply Chain team, focusing on ensuring cost-effective procurement, strong supplier relationships, and alignment with business values. Your responsibilities will include: Procuring goods and services using benchmarking and best practice tools to ensure value for money. Processing purchase requisitions, issuing RFQs, raising and expediting purchase orders, and updating stakeholders on delivery timelines. Building and maintaining productive relationships with suppliers to meet business needs. Managing procurement administration tasks such as accurate data entry, resolving invoice queries, and approving invoices. Conducting supplier and market research to identify opportunities for business improvements. Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and negotiating improved terms with suppliers. Responding efficiently to enquiries in a fast-paced environment. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (flexibility available within office hours of 7:00 am – 7:00 pm). Who You Are We are seeking an individual with the following skills and experience: Commercial awareness with proven experience in purchasing and negotiation. Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers. CIPS Level 4 qualification (desirable) or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience reviewing, negotiating, and implementing contracts. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and make informed decisions. Eagerness to learn and support the wider team. Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail. Ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines. Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills. Adaptability to thrive in a growing, fast-paced business environment.
