Role: Recycler Technician-Working nights (Requires HGV licence).

Location: We currently have a vacancy for a Recycler Technician (Nights) to join our Customer Field Services department with our Waste Service Delivery Business Unit working out of lower Brighouse covering the whole of Yorkshire. Successful applicants need to be within a 30-minute commute from our Lower Brighouse wastewater treatment works.
Work type: This is a permanent opportunity working 40 per week, working a permanent night shift Monday to Thursday to or Tuesday to Friday to 07:00. You will be required to travel to different operational sites across the region; therefore, a full valid driving licence (no more than 6 points), a LGV licence Category C and ideally a driver DCPC is required.

Where you fit:
As a Recycler Technician, you will be required to work alongside the Recycler Assistant for support but will also be required to work closely with other Yorkshire Water teams and our contracted partners on site to resolve and manage operational issues on the sewer network in times of high demand. You will be predominantly working on our proactive desilt program, including sewer inspection, cleaning, and defect resolution. This is an ongoing activity, we are aiming to proactively inspect and, where required cleanse and resolve defects on 450k of sewer network using a data led approach to target high risk areas. You will be responsible for ensuring a first-time fix solution for customers and the environment whilst ensuring quality follow-on work is raised in accordance with our standards and specifications.
You will ensure Health and Safety working practices & procedures are always complied with. When making day to day business decisions you will be required to demonstrate financial awareness and provide technical support and first line response to customer contacts to ensure a fix first time resolution & ensuring that the most cost-effective resolution is promoted.
As part of this role, you will be required to work within confined spaces, any successful candidate must pass strict medical criteria including, BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests to ensure your full safety when working in hazardous environments.
What skills, experience and training you will need:
1. A full valid EU driving licence (with no more than six points) and a Heavy Goods Vehicle category C licence plus DCPC
2. Experience of driving vehicles with a liquid load
3. Recycler vehicle operation experience
4. A strong Health & Safety background
5. Ability to find faults and diagnose the root cause of an issue.
6. Competent in the use of IT systems
7. Previous experience in a customer service role with face-to-face communication with customers
8. Knowledge and experience on working with Microsoft Excel
9. The ability to be proactive and take ownership of issues, think through problems and work with others to solve them.
10. Good interpersonal skills to liaise with operations, customers, and stakeholders.
11. Effective communication skills
12. Ability to develop and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
13. A basic understanding of the sewer network
14. Understanding of sewerage system and network performance issues
15. Ideally you will have previous experience gained within the wastewater.
