Pig Manager Vacancy
Are you looking for the next step? We are looking for a stockperson wanting to take that next step into Farm management.
As a diverse family-owned business, we are looking for someone to join us as part of the management team and who will ultimately be responsible for the running of our 400-sow farrow to finish unit.
The pig unit is a 3 week batch farrow to finish, outdoor reared and free range set up. Dry sows are housed inside in a modern scrape through building. Farrowing is outside on concrete railway sleepers, growers are outside in Hudson barns, the outdoor reared pigs then finish inside in deep straw scrape through housing and the free range remain outside for their duration.
Our farm ethos is to get as close as possible to the end consumer. The cereals are all fed back to livestock through our farm mill and mix setup, the pigs are slaughtered locally, we pick the carcasses ourselves to supply our butcher customers direct through our lorries which we deliver personally.
Our ideal candidate is someone with a positive attitude and good pig production knowledge. We want someone keen to develop within the business alongside the business owner. There is flexibility in the role so you can help shape it allowing growth in staff management right through to consumer relationships depending on your interests.
