The Pontypool Medical Centre is a well-established surgery with approximately 18,500 patients located in Pontypool, currently have a fantastic opportunity for a General Practitioner to join their close-knit team. You will work autonomously alongside our welcoming and supportive Nursing and Administration team.

We offer the opportunity to work alongside our 2 Pharmacists, 3 ANP's, Home-visiting paramedic, and experienced admin team.
Main duties of the job
Your responsibilities as a General Practitioner; The following are the core responsibilities of the General Practitioner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
* Perform clinical examinations of patients to assess, diagnose and monitor conditions
* Carry out patient consultations at home and within the surgery
* Monitor patients' conditions and wellbeing
* Diagnose and treat various illnesses/ailments
* Carry out minor surgery where required
* Liaise with other healthcare professionals (e.g., midwives, pharmacists, health visitors, and psychiatrists) as part of multidisciplinary teams
Opportunity to become involved with Enhanced Services such as:
* Diabetes
* Substance Misuse Clinic
With our existing team including two GP trainers, there is plenty of scope to increase your own skills and also become involved in the training of new clinicians.

Qualifications
* Member of the GMC Register
* Experience of working in a primary care and urgent care environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills written, verbal & particularly listening
* Clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability
* Good clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute Primary care presentations
