Description/Job Summary To help manage the firm’s billing and revenue function in addition to assisting the firm to achieve its financial targets by providing an efficient and commercially focused service throughout the firm. Responsibilities/Duties Establishing relationships in order to gain knowledge about the clients and matters of the departments quickly; Following up on matters that have concluded or have reached billing stage and ensuring they are responded to in a timely manner; Responsible for managing the revenue aspects of a specified group of Partners and fee earners within the firm; Conducting a regular review of Work In Progress (WIP) and Accounts receivable (AR) for your groups and arranging review meetings with Partners and the credit controller; Hold meetings with Partners and fee earners to discuss WIP & AR, including the credit controller in order to determine most appropriate course of action; Ensuring the timely processing of bills, checking VAT and numerical calculations on bills and compliance to VAT and Solicitors Accounts Rules; Continued maintenance of the matter comments and reporting for Partners assigned to you; Maintenance of transfers of time/cost and write-offs, production of credit notes where necessary; Regular analysis and maintenance of client/matter data; and Taking a lead role with special projects as needed. Required Skills Minimum of eight years plus in a large law firm required including exposure to VAT and disbursements; Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules; An understanding or experience of billing in a foreign currency and associated issues Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel; High level of proficiency with Elite 3E required; Can organize, prioritize, plan and multi-task work activities, with the ability to effectively meet deadlines in a high pressure environment Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Flexibility to adapt to all work situations and demands as required; Available to work additional hours where necessary; Meet and discuss team requirements regularly with London management; Supervision of a member or members of the team; Mentor and train new Billing Coordinators as directed; Capable of organizing cover of other members work when they are absent; and Be able to guide and share knowledge of working practices with the team.
