As part of our experienced and highly skilled Truck & Bus team, you will work with some of the best and most experienced fitters in the area, whose knowledge of fitting and adapting HGV's is second to none and whose skills are years in the making. Working on tractor units fitting walkways, toolboxes and other equipment, your products will be travelling around the UK on an almost daily basis.
What is the role?
The Commercial Vehicle Fitter works as part of a team and is responsible for fitting truck components, hydraulics and any other ancillary parts to commercial vehicles as required by the customer. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of our products so being adaptable is essential!
The main duties and responsibilities of a Commercial Vehicle Body Builder/Fitter are:
1. To fit sub-assemblies, specialist parts and equipment to vehicles against a set of engineering drawings and work instructions.
You will need to have the following experience:
If you have a relevant Motor Vehicle Maintenance qualification then this role would be very much in your skill set. Use of hand tools is a must, so understanding how to operate these safely and in a workshop environment is essential. A background in light engineering, such as drilling, tapping and assembly would be preferred.
