Job overview
We are currently seeking Operating Department Practitioners and Anaesthetic Nurses to join our dynamic team within Cardio Thoracic Theatres and the Cath Labs. We will provide you with the support and guidance to succeed, along with a comprehensive training package when you join this fast-paced environment.
We are the heart of Manchester, providing routine cardio thoracic surgery along with some of the most complex cardiac procedures. We are also the north west Heart and Lung transplantation centre.
You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team that is expanding. Cardio Thoracic experience is desirable but not a necessity as full training will be given. Comprehensive preceptorship is available for newly qualified ODPs and Anaesthetic Nurses.
Main duties of the job
1. Be responsible for the assessment and delivery of care for the perioperative patient, implementing and continually evaluating their nursing care to optimise outcomes.
2. Participate in the teaching/supervision of junior staff and in the teaching of students on both basic and post-basic courses.
3. Maintain personal and professional development.
4. Participate in effective utilisation of resources.
5. Act in accordance with the NMC/HCPC Professional Code of Conduct.

Experience
* Clinical experience.
* Significant experience of 2 years in a relevant clinical setting including training.
* Experience gained through previous employment or training.
* Critical care/Recovery experience.
