Contract: Casual / Seasonal fixed term contract – April 2025 to September 2025
BikePark Wales is a successful business which is growing fast. The current offering includes over 40 world-class mountain bike trails, a vehicular uplift service, café, bike shop, bike hire, coaching, and events but an ambitious development plan is now underway to both improve the existing services and add new products to the existing site.
The Role
We are looking for an energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic MTB rider to join our team as an MTB Guide. The successful candidate will deliver guiding experiences on site, primarily focusing on our ‘Ticket to Ride’ package, which is aimed at MTB beginners.
You will be responsible for the visitor’s experience from start to finish; therefore, you must have a positive, engaging, fun personality, with superb communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for, previous experience with, and great understanding of quality visitor experience, with a confident and calm demeanor.
Reliability and adaptability are vital for this role, as are excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
* Delivering engaging MTB guiding experiences to our visitors.
* Completing the full Guide training schedule and adhering to the training given.
* Following and delivering the Beginner experiences as set out in your training manual.
* Welcoming our visitors at the start of their visit, processing their bookings, and issuing passes.
* Ensuring that all visitors have completed the appropriate H&S documents prior to riding.
* Being responsible for the safety of our visitors in your care, supported by training and onsite team.
* Reviewing and checking your safety and first aid kits at the beginning of each session.
* Ensuring your bike and your visitor’s bikes are suitable and safe to ride, working with the mechanic team.
* Motivating and engaging visitors with your enthusiastic and motivational personality.
* Being adaptable and calm under pressure.
* Exhibiting organization and planning skills with a good eye for detail, identifying potential problems and acting quickly to resolve them.
* Building strong relationships internally and externally across all teams, demonstrating strong communication skills.
* Maintaining a hard-working and adaptable manner, with a solid common-sense approach.
* Communicating in the Welsh language.
* Possessing British Cycling Fundamentals of leadership or above – willingness to complete.
* Obtaining an Enhanced DBS certificate – willingness to complete.
* Acquiring First Aid Qualifications – willingness to complete.
