Our transportation team have a vacancy in our Leeds office for an Associate Director with relevant experience in leading the delivery of a broad range of traffic engineering or transport planning projects. They will also be responsible for work winning activities. The successful candidate will share our ethos of delivering high levels of service to assist with the growth of our Yorkshire and North transportation business by enhancing existing and developing new client relationships. The transportation team provides a range of solutions for clients, including - business case development, transport modelling and appraisal, feasibility, concept, preliminary and detailed design, community engagement, project delivery and construction management services, on a wide range of multi-discipline transportation and urban realm projects. You will be joining a strong team who are recognised as market leaders in the transportation sector, including in active travel, public transport, bus priority, general traffic engineering and transport planning. In addition to delivering work within the local office, the role will involve working closely with other AECOM teams across the North region and across the wider UK & Ireland business, with opportunity for international working. Key Responsibilities: Client relationship building - Develop sound client relationships, being alert to commercial opportunities, identifying emerging opportunities and developing strategies to fully exploit them. Work winning - Prepare detailed proposals in response to client briefs and contribute to or lead bids. Working with colleagues to deliver marketing and business development objectives in both the local region and nationally. Project leadership - Following successful accreditation on the AECOM project management system, act as a Project Director and Project Manager, including monitoring financial performance and key performance indicators. Comprehensive training on AECOM’s project management system will be provided. Technical leadership - Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief. Team management - Be a pro-active line manager, supporting career progression of line reports. This includes mentoring, developing team skills and ensure they are up to date with current best practice, techniques, and innovation. Team leadership - Support the Transportation North senior management team, including deputising for the Team Leaders in Leeds as required. This also includes pro-actively supporting recruitment activities to grow the team.
