We currently provide day surgery and surgical admissions service for a number of specialties including Head and Neck, Upper GI, Colorectal, Vascular, Gynaecology and Breast. The successful applicant will be working as part of the day surgery team delivering exceptional care for the patients attending the unit. Alongside this the successful applicant will be an integral member of the Day Surgery leadership team working alongside the Senior Sister/Ward manager to support the team with both their professional and personal skills.They will be ambitious, proactive and highly motivated, whilst able to embrace compassionate leadership principles; demonstrating kindness and respect with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Main duties of the job The successful applicant will have a valid registration with significant post registration experience, surgical experience desirable. They will be compassionate, transformational and inclusive with a supporting focus to achieve the trust vision. They will be managing and professionally leading the team alongside and in the absence of the Senior Sister/Ward Manager. There is a strong emphasis on the need to develop excellent service performance and working collaboratively with the team members within the surgical division and associated clinical staff. The successful applicant would be expected to undertake the role of co-ordinator, liaising with surgeons, anaesthetists and the nursing team to make sure there is a continual flow through all stages of the patients experience, including admissions, post operative care and discharge.The successful applicant will also undertake appraisals of staff members, assist with investigating incidents and complaints and be a role model whilst demonstrating a smart and professional image at all times.
