The On-call GP covers both sites throughout the day as the single point of Access and Triage of all house call requests, Urgent queries from the practice team, community and Hospital teams as well as complex medication queries. The on-call GP is also responsible for any house calls that need to be triaged and completed after lunchtime. We offer a competitive salary (both experience and qualifications will be considered), indemnity paid (in addition to salary) and 6 weeks annual leave. We operate a standard BMA contract which includes protected CPD time pro rata. We support professional development and encourage applications from GPs with special interests. About us Betts Avenue is a long-established GP Practice operating in the heart of Newcastle over two sites (Kenton and Benwell). We are a team of 3 GP Partners supported by 2 salaried GPs, 1 Long-term Locum GP, 2 Advanced Care Practitioners, 1 senior Nurse/Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, 3 Student nurses/HCAs as well as an experienced management and admin team. We deliver a range of GMS services to a population of approximately 11,000 patients. We also have support from Care-Coordinators, Pharmacy Hub and PCN pharmacists and Technicians, our own Practice Pharmacist, Diabetes Dietitian, Mental Health co-ordinators for Adults, Mental Health practitioner for Children and Young People, Paramedics who help us with the house calls and a team of Social Link Workers. The GPs are also delivering weekly Ward Rounds in two local large Care Homes. We are an F2-training practice and also teach Year 5 Medical Students and Nursing Students.
