General Description The Pool Manager / Swim Coach at Inverness Golf Club will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the pool facility. This position is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of those members and guests using the swimming pool. The Pool Manager is also the Swim Coach for the Club’s Youth Swim Team. This position is under direct supervision of the Clubhouse Manager of Inverness Golf Club. In addition, the Pool Manager will report to the Pool & Tennis Committee. Duties: Interview, hire, train, schedule and supervise all pool staff. Plan and schedule in service training for lifeguards including first aid, facility maintenance, emergency procedures and any other applicable information. Coordinate opening of the pool (set up of pool deck, filling and balancing the water in the pool). Coordinate the Swim Team (practices and swim meets) and make it fun for the swimmers. Coordinate the Swim Calendar and Swim Booklets for the membership. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization of pool area in general. Attend monthly Swim & Tennis Meetings as scheduled by the Committee. Maintain and complete accurate records of pool operation, including time sheets, daily reports, accidents, incidents, attendance, guest fees, and required records for Health Department. Oversee the general custodial cleaning of entire pool facility including vacuuming, hosing off pool deck, cleaning of filters, cleaning of rest rooms and locker rooms etc. Conduct required pH and chlorine tests to ensure pool water is healthy and record in log book. Work within previously approved Annual Budget (payroll, supplies, chemicals etc). Assist members and guests in a professional and courteous manner. Enforce Pool Rules and take necessary corrective action when required. Interpret all laws, ordinances, rules and regulations regarding health and safety of all persons using the pool. Any other additional duties required by the General Manager/ Chief Operating Officer. (or Ramon). Qualifications: Currently Certified Pool Operator (or CPO) Current certification Red Cross Lifeguard Training Current certification Red Cross / First Aid / CPR/FPR Previous Pool Manager experience (preferably in Private Clubs) Any and all state required certifications Skills: The Pool Manager must have knowledge of water hazards, lifesaving techniques and first aid. Must be able to recognize hazardous situations and adopt effective course of action. This position requires effective communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to engage positively with the GM/COO (or Ramon), members, staff and the Pool & Tennis Committee. The Pool Manager must be able to consistently maintain proper chemical levels and water clarity in the pool. Must also have an eye for detail and cleanliness of all areas in and around pool including (pool itself, bathrooms, locker rooms, pool deck etc.). Physical Skills: While performing the duties of the position, the Pool Manager is frequently required to sit, kneel, stand, bend and reach. This position requires mobility. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Duties require attentiveness to visual and audible cues for recognition and identification of swimmers in distress or in process of unsafe behaviors. This position required proficient swimming ability and the proper application of rescue and first aid techniques. This position is required to work in the outside elements (heat, rain, cold). Summary: The Pool Manager is required to maintain the pool and pool area safely and as required by state and federal laws. The Pool Manager must hire and train all pool staff within the approved operating budget. The Pool Manager is also the Swim Coach for the youth swim team. There are 5-6 swim meets (both home and away) as well as regular practices for the team. Cleanliness, safety, service, communication and organization are all important to the success of this position. Hours of Operation: The pool opens the Friday before Memorial Day for Memorial Day Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon). It will be closed that week and reopen the following Saturday. The last day of pool operations will be Labor Day. The Pool Manager and staff are required to close up the pool (for the season) on the Tuesday and Wednesday following Labor Day The Inverness Golf Club Pool is open Tuesday-Sunday from 11am-7pm. Closed Mondays. In addition to regular pool hours the swim team practices/meets will vary.
