We have an exciting opportunity for an Assessment & Approvals Specialist at our Perth Head Office, on a 0.6 FTE (3 days a week), 12-month maximum term contract with potential for extension.
About this role
As the Assessment & Approvals Specialist, you will support the business in identifying safety, environment, quality, and training (SEQT) constraints and requirements for planning, maintenance, and inspection of the network and asset strategies. Your responsibilities include:
* Identifying environmental, planning, and heritage constraints and approvals to facilitate project design and delivery, providing timely environmental advice including technical, operational, approvals, strategy, and risk assessments.
* Supporting the business in managing and complying with SEQT requirements related to environmental, health, pollution, heritage, land access, urban and regional planning, and public safety during project planning and execution.
* Contributing to an inclusive, effective, and safe work environment by making responsible decisions and fostering positive relationships within the team, with partners, and external parties, aligning with the company’s values and objectives.
About you
We are seeking candidates with:
* A Bachelor’s Degree in safety, Environmental Science, urban and regional planning, law, or related fields.
* Over 5 years of experience in environmental, heritage, and statutory planning approvals.
* Proven ability to assess and mitigate risks in design and asset management activities.
* Strong communication and written skills.
* Ability to influence stakeholders internally and externally.
* A self-motivated and determined work ethic.
