Job Title: Senior Human Factors Engineer
Location: Glascoed, South Wales
Salary: £53,928
What you'll be doing:
* Providing Human Factors Integration support in the design of products and processes by tailoring and estimating the required human factors work, capturing and managing requirements, risks, and opportunities, offering design guidance, conducting testing and evaluation, and supporting acceptance and review
* Planning and executing quantitative and qualitative human factors assessments (human error, workload, situation awareness, ergonomic analysis, and usability)
* Creating procedure documentation to formalise human factors working practices
* Providing advice on the usability of standard operating procedures and exchange of critical information
* Identifying and implementing new initiatives
* Scoping and managing how and when work will be conducted
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Human Factors/Ergonomics/Psychology degree qualified
* Chartered, or qualified to become chartered through a relevant institution (e.g. CIEHF)
* Knowledge and experience of human factors methods involved in safety assessments
Desirable:
* Familiarity with relevant governance documents and best practice
* Knowledge and experience of the human factors methods involved in safety assessment for high hazard processes

The Human Factors team:
Join our team and support your journey to achieving chartership within the appropriate Human Factors body while continuing to develop and champion Human Factors within BAE Systems Land UK. You'll have the opportunity to share best practices and lead this specialist team within our Central Engineering function. With the chance to engage with other Human Factors Specialists, you can enjoy a four-day working week and play a pivotal role in advancing Human Factors within the business.
