Deputy Ward Manager - Private, Low Secure Mental Health Hospital
Location: Haslemere, Surrey
Salary: £45,864 - £50,232 basic annual salary.
Shifts: 3 x 12 hour shifts one week, and 4 x 12 hours the next, alternating.
Requirements:
* Must have valid NMC PIN (PRN Number is not acceptable) - RMN or RGN.
* Accommodation can be provided in some circumstances.
* No Visa sponsorship available; applications from outside the UK are not accepted unless you have a UK PIN.
Responsibilities:
* Work with the Ward Manager in maximizing effective management and utilization of available ward manpower and resources that are clinically effective and financially viable.
* Ensure completed duty rotas are respected and adhered to by all ward staff team members, managing requested alterations of rostered duties in the absence of the Ward Manager.
* Nurture and monitor communication effectiveness within duty shift teams and between Day and Night duty shifts, emphasizing ward handover.
* Ensure all patients have up-to-date risk assessments and care plans that address all aspects of need, regularly reviewed and evaluated.
* Document service users' involvement in Care Planning and Care Plan Review, detailing any capacity factors affecting this involvement.
* Ensure compliance with the clinical audit program and formulate action plans based on the results.
* Report adverse and serious untoward incidents (SUI) properly, communicating lessons learned and necessary actions to all staff team members.
* Facilitate advocacy services to meet patients' needs with the Ward Manager.
* Attend hospital Senior Management Team meetings and Bed Management meetings on behalf of the Ward Manager in their absence.
* Participate in and manage Group Management Supervision Sessions organized by the Ward Manager in their absence.
* Attend regular group management supervision sessions alongside the Ward Manager and Senior Staff Nurse, facilitated by the General Manager.
Candidates will be required to have a ‘live’ NMC PIN.
