Job Description Position: Head of Child Care Solicitor Location: Ashton-Under-Lyne, Greater Manchester Salary: £70,000 DOE We are supporting a prominent law firm in Ashton-Under-Lyne as they expand their Child Law team. They are seeking an experienced and highly committed Head of Child Care Solicitor with 7 years PQE to lead their dynamic and growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact while working on a wide range of complex and sensitive child care matters. Key Responsibilities: Caseload Management: Oversee a variety of child care cases, including adoption, child protection, and other complex family law matters. Advocacy: Represent clients in court, with a preference for those confident in handling their own advocacy. Client Care: Deliver outstanding service to vulnerable clients, managing sensitive issues with compassion and professionalism. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to foster a collaborative environment and encourage cross-referrals. Business Development: Actively market the firm and develop new business opportunities through networking. Legal Expertise: Maintain expert knowledge in publicly funded child care work and the CCMS system. Ideal Candidate: Qualifications: 7 years PQE, Law Society Children Panel Membership required. Practising Certificate: Must have a clean and valid practising certificate. Team Player: Collaborative and committed to building a positive team culture, with a fair and proactive approach. Client Care: Strong client care skills, especially when dealing with vulnerable clients and complex child care cases. Business Development: Excellent networking and communication skills with the ability to market the firm and generate new business.
