This vacancy is for a Qualified Dispensing Assistant in our Tewkesbury High Street branch. The role is full-time, 40 hours a week, with opportunities to work additional hours as overtime to cover holidays and absence. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 0900-1800 with alternate Saturdays 0900-1730 (with a day off in the week). We can also consider part-time applicants.

Job Description
The Dispensing Assistant is an integral member of the pharmacy team. You will interact with customers, download and prepare prescriptions, and support medicines counter assistants and pharmacists. Responsibilities include:
1. Manufacturing dosette trays for patients who need extra support in organising medication
2. Downloading and preparing prescriptions from local surgeries or customers collecting medication
3. Supporting medicines counter assistants and pharmacists
4. Having effective conversations with customers to ensure they receive the right level of care and medication
5. Engaging with customers about additional services offered by the pharmacy, including the Pharmacy First scheme
Requirements and Qualifications
We require a qualified dispenser with an NVQ2 in dispensing, either from the National Pharmacy Association or an equivalent provider. Additionally, we offer support for staff to progress their careers through courses such as the NVQ3 technician course, Accuracy Checking for Dispensers (ACD), or Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT).
