Main duties of the job
The Lead Nurse will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of GP Pathfinder Clinics. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the nursing team across multiple sites, providing clinical leadership, and contributing to the overall success of the clinic. Key Responsibilities:
5. Clinical Leadership:
6. Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing team, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
7. Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating exceptional nursing care and patient management skills.
8. Participate in clinical governance activities, including audits, incident reporting, and risk assessments.
9. Deliver excellent patient care in practice as required.
10. Team Management:
11. Recruit, train, and develop the nursing team to meet the clinic's needs.
12. Allocate and manage workloads effectively to ensure optimal patient care and staff satisfaction.
13. Provide mentorship and support to junior staff members, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
14. Service Delivery:
15. Ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing care, meeting and exceeding patient expectations.
16. Coordinate the delivery of primary care services, including vaccinations, chronic disease management, and minor procedures.
17. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
18. Quality Improvement:
19. Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice and implement strategies to enhance quality.
20. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to ensure continuous improvement.
21. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical services and processes.
22. Governance and Compliance:
23. Ensure compliance with relevant clinical governance and regulatory requirements.
24. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
25. Participate in the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures.
Working Pattern:
26. 4 days per week of patient consultations. (3 days)
27. 2 sessions per week dedicated to auditing, administrative, and management work. (1 days)
28. The above is a minimum but preference would be for 5 days a week, h pw, happy to be more flexible for the time attributed on the final day.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
29. Registered Nurse with a valid NMC license.
Experience
Essential
30. Minimum of 5 years of experience in primary care or a related field.
31. Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in leading and developing nursing teams.
32. Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in primary care nursing.
33. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
34. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
