Objective - Quantity Surveyor

The successful candidate will be joining a strong existing team, with the objective of further strengthening the quantity surveying department.
Responsibilities
1. Exposure to the full project lifecycle with involvement across pre-construction through to project delivery.
2. Managing the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement and client final account negotiation to ensure the best possible outcome.
3. Attending monthly CVR meetings for presentation of the current financial situation on projects and producing accurate cashflow.
4. Commercial administration and management on live projects or projects at the pre-construction phase.
5. Management and control of subcontract orders, accounts, and variation accounts in line with the main contract and sub-contract database.
6. Manage subcontractor and professional services selection for schemes, ensuring the chosen contractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work, and helping to prepare procurement schedules liaising with legal counsel as required regarding contractual information.
7. Develop an understanding of all designated contracts, specifications, and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout the contracts.
8. Reporting to a Senior Surveyor.
Candidate Profile
1. Possession of HNC or above in Quantity Surveying or a similar discipline.
2. Strong commercial acumen.
3. Ability to remeasure accounts on all trades.
4. Ability to produce a bill of quantities from drawings (regardless of the method of measurement).
5. Excellent negotiation skills with the supply chain and/or external clients to ensure the business maximises profit throughout.
