We have an exciting opportunity within Older People Mental Health Services for an Interim Clinical Lead on Bracken Ward (Mixed ward 65+) at Airedale Centre Mental Health.
We are looking for someone who is prepared to lead creatively, committed to improving patient, family and carer experience, and who will lead and motivate the team to strive for continuous improvement through the development of pathways across Mental Health Services and with partner organisations, voluntary and community sectors.
Areas of focus will include creating a safe and caring culture, quality and safety agendas, safer staffing, meeting key performance indicators, supporting with audits, lessons learnt and enabling development of the team.
Our specialized team includes registered mental health nurses, healthcare support workers, physiotherapists, activity coordinators, occupational therapists, ward consultant and ward doctors who will help support patients with personal care and structuring their day to support in the journey of recovery.
Responsibilities
* To provide clinical expertise and leadership to all staff
* To support medical staff and ensure MDT attendance at CPAs etc
* To ensure the service meets quality standards set locally, regionally and nationally
* To be the lead for audit and data submissions for the service
* To provide relevant training and education as required/requested by the service
* To co-ordinate the programme for trainees on the ward such as Associate Nurses, Student Social Workers and Nursing Students
* To lead on service developments, including planning, implementation and evaluation
* To contribute to data collection and analysis locally and regionally
* Proactively oversee the care navigation of service users, assessing care programmes to enable the service user to maintain independence and to facilitate discharge
* To work with the discharge co-ordinator to ensure complex care packages are managed in a timely manner and escalate any difficulties
* To seek and develop innovative and pioneering ways of working collaboratively with healthcare professionals
* To establish close working relationships with professionals in and out of the acute care settings
