Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously controlled and monitored. This position requires strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of cost control processes to deliver projects within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labour, materials, and overheads.
2. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects and provide accurate financial forecasts.
3. Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure budgets are adhered to.
4. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to provide financial advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Prepare tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules.
6. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
7. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
8. Provide reports on project costs and forecasts to senior management as required.
Requirements
1. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
2. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry is highly desirable.
3. Strong knowledge of cost control processes and techniques.
4. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
5. Proficient in using quantity surveying software.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
8. Membership or working towards membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is an advantage.
