Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant
Job Description:
This role involves an opportunity for development and growth within the Finance Team for a private equity firm that holds an eclectic business portfolio.
Responsibilities:
1. Completing all necessary administrative and transactional accounting and reconciliation for all companies within the Mutley Investment Group.
2. Accurately record all takings and paying in slips on accounting software and ensure anything for banking is passed to the Head of Finance.
3. Process sales invoices and credit notes.
4. Process sales refunds.
5. Chase any outstanding balances and update the customers ledger.
6. Record all banking transactions and update petty cash balances.
7. Record and reconcile any other accounts in relation to the receipt of money/payments and payment charges.
8. Process and record purchase invoices.
9. Reconciliation of supplier balances and statements and querying any discrepancies as required.
10. Liaise with the Head of Finance regarding balances and payments for all suppliers.
11. Receive and process payroll and pension payments, including calculating any deductions and producing draft payslips.
12. Ensure all payroll and employee information is appropriately and accurately stored and holiday records are kept up to date.
13. Produce and update payroll journals and review VAT returns.
14. Deal with HMRC payments.
15. Ensure all filing is updated, accurate, appropriately stored and files are archived where necessary.
16. Undertake additional operational and office duties as required.
17. Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
18. Establish and develop relations with senior management, external partners, and other stakeholders.
Required Education and Experience:
1. AAT Level 3 and/or equivalent working experience at this level.
2. Previous experience with processing financial data, payroll, budgeting, control, and reporting.
3. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
4. General solid IT infrastructure knowledge.
