We are seeking a GP at any stage of their career (recently qualified) to work at the practice covering maternity cover for 6 sessions per week, potentially anywhere between 6-12 months from July 2025, although willing to wait for the right person, potentially Aug or Sept.
We are a highly successful and well-staffed advanced training practice with a list size of approx 18,000 patients. GPs typically undertake face-to-face consultations & duty on a rota system. Excellent Independent Pharmacists & ANP cover means you would see minimal home visits; admin/letters are efficiently organised by a strong administration team. You would have the option of being involved with teaching and training. The practice has 2 sites based in Rhymney & New Tredegar, all easily commutable from Cardiff/Swansea/Brecon/Abergavenny. Ample on-site parking is provided. Great flexibility on working days and session timings. The team undertakes mid-morning coffee breaks together and lunch every day, which we feel is important.
Main duties of the job
In accordance with the practice rota, the post holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties including face-to-face consultations, telephone triage, dealing with queries, results, making appropriate & timely referrals, checking and signing repeat prescriptions. However, we are going live with electronic prescribing in June. Occasionally undertake home visits, although these are mainly undertaken by ANP & Registrars.
