MIDAS Data engineering team is seeking a Data engineering manager with strong experience in delivering large scale datawarehouse solutions.
MIDAS team is part of the Digital Acceleration engineering organization which builds services and products for cross digital teams across Amazon. We specialize in building analytics and data engineering related products specifically around business datamarts, metadata management, customer lifecycle management, and advanced self-serve analytics.
In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and delivering enterprise-wide analytical datamarts, delivering on next generation big data platforms, and driving the vision for analytic products related to customer lifecycle management. You will be responsible for roadmap creation, alignment of stakeholder teams, and providing technical mentorship to team members. You will be expected to leverage prominent paradigms such as data lakes, distributed data processing, NoSQL DBs, batch and stream processing and provide solutions for business analytics and ML-AI use-cases.
An ideal individual is someone who has deep traditional data engineering skills combined with the ability to architect and visualize software products and platforms in the data analytics space.
You have strong business judgement, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and are comfortable working with business leaders at all levels, including senior management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience leading and influencing the data or BI strategy of your team or organization
- Experience managing a data or BI team
- Experience hiring, developing and promoting engineering talent
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience with AWS Tools and Technologies (Redshift, S3, EC2)
