About our exciting opportunity
* Plan and upgrade network infrastructure, including cost estimation and design considerations.
* Develop and implement maintenance programs, and conduct security audits using tools like ZenMap, nMAP, and Kali Linux.
* Provide network KPIs to the Network Manager and Senior Management Team.
* Install and terminate fibre optic cables, including splicing, and ensure proper installation of network equipment.
* Collaborate with the delivery team to hand over builds to operations and perform scheduled and emergency maintenance.
* Identify opportunities to improve network performance, including cloud database solutions and MySQL clustering.
* Respond to network emergencies and ensure SLAs are met.
* Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve third-line issues and diagnose complex network problems.
* Create lab environments to reproduce customer issues, and participate in the on-call rota for emergencies.
* Conduct audits and commission new fibre networks, including OTDR and Visual Fault Registration inspections.
* Prepare detailed survey reports and develop cross-platform integrations using PHP, HTML, AJAX, and cURL.
Your skills and experience
* 2 years experience in the Technology or Network sector
* Switching (Layer 2 and Layer 3), Routing, BGP, OSPF, IP, VLANs, QinQ, POE, Trunking and Capacity Management and be familiar with the 7 Layer OSI models
* Understanding of Fibre networks specifically GPON architecture
* Positive attitude
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Liaise and manage relationships with stakeholders effectively
* Willing to undertake further training to fulfil the requirements of the role.
