Head Housekeeper Location | Between Stroud and Cirencester, Gloucestershire Salary | Up to £40,000 Hours | Full-time Overview Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Live-out Head Housekeeper to oversee and carry out the housekeeping of their beautiful rural Grade II listed property, situated between Stroud and Cirencester in Gloucestershire. The ideal applicant will be a highly organised and detail-oriented team leader with extensive experience in managing private households. The Head Housekeeper will lead a team of Housekeepers and collaborate closely with the estates PA, Nanny, Property Manager, and Gardeners to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Job duties Responsibilities of the Head Housekeeper in Gloucestershire include: Basic and occasional food preparation Cleaning the oven and other white goods Seasonal deep cleans Tidying and cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas Fire clearing and laying Cleaning unused rooms on a less frequent basis Polishing brass, silver, antiques, and fine furniture Cleaning windows Laundry and wardrobe management Greeting guests Animal care Keeping patios, pathways, and steps clear and tidy Flower arrangement Ordering provisions and stock rotation Basic accountancy Dealing with tradesmen, suppliers, and contractors Managing security alarms Occasional babysitting Carrying out any reasonable ad-hoc duties Candidates must be/have: Prior experience as a Housekeeper/Head Housekeeper in private households Experience of leading a team A valid driving licence Flexibility to work on occasional weekends A highly proactive team player with excellent attention to detail Accommodation No accommodation is provided as this is a live-out position. Hours Full-time. Monday Friday, however, weekend cover is required 1-2 times per month, depending on the staff rota and family movements. Time-off in lieu will be provided.
