What will you be doing?
1. Taking the lead role on site on projects under your control (or supporting the Contract Manager).
2. Liaising with Contract Managers, Sub contractors, suppliers and Head Office.
3. Contractual correspondence.
4. Controlling and allocating site labour, plant and materials.
5. Leading and managing Project Managers, Logistics Operatives and sub-contractors/supply chain partners.
6. Programming and planning of all works.
7. Ensuring daily and weekly site records are accurate and up to date and ensuring all Quality and Health & Safety control documents are completed.
8. Ensuring a high standard of quality and workmanship is achieved.
9. Ensuring Risk Assessments are prepared and complied with.
10. Ensuring Method Statements are prepared; any deviation from Alumet’s main Health and Safety Plan must be covered by a ‘task specific’ Method Statement. Ensuring that Method Statements are complied with.
11. Managing Health and Safety on site; rigorously following safe systems of work and relevant procedures.
12. Ensuring that all necessary checks and forms are completed prior to any work being undertaken.
13. Ensuring all elements of the project are delivered within budget and within time constraints.
14. To ensure that any absences from site are communicated to the Contracts Manager so that temporary cover can be arranged if required and any actions noted.
15. Manage own workload and organise the site team.
16. Ensuring that all on site members of the Alumet team have individual name and Alumet labels on hard hats and also that they wear an Alumet Hi-Vis.
17. Maintain areas of work in a clean and tidy state.
18. Ensuring that the ASTA system is up to date for your specific project in conjunction with the Contract Manager.
19. Continual review of methods of work, alternative materials etc in order to maximise commercial profitability.
20. Provision of aftercare services to the client.
21. Leading all site meetings in conjunction with the Contract Manager.
22. Strict control of Day work sheets.
23. Implementing the Snag R system on site.
24. Strict signing off of sub-contractor’s sheets/invoices in conjunction with the Contract Manager.
25. Maintaining effective and long-term relationships with clients.
26. Being pro-active in the identification and resolution of problems.
27. Acting as an ambassador/exemplar of Alumet Systems and embracing/supporting/promoting the Company culture and values.
28. To carry out Performance Development Reviews as necessary.
Where will you be working?
On site in central Birmingham.
What we’d like from you
1. Proven track record of managing large building envelope contracts – curtain walling, rain screen cladding, windows.
2. NVQ Level 6 Construction Site Management (or equivalent) – essential.
3. Valid site qualifications including current CSCS (black) card and SMSTS.
4. Proven record of CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
5. High degree of initiative.
6. High level of leadership and management skills.
7. Technical experience and knowledge.
8. Commercial and financial ability.
9. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
10. Problem solving skills.
