Job Summary Introba UK is looking for an Associate Fire Surveyor to assist in the management of the clients and projects to ensure that we continue to provide a quality service in parallel with the growth of the fire engineering firm. Responsibilities & Qualifications The role will require an individual who has at least 4 years’ experience in the fire engineering field, who can manage their own projects and liaise directly with both clients and the design teams. They should be able to run the project from the initial quotation stage all the way to getting it approved by the Approving Authorities. A key aspect of providing a suitable fire engineered solution to the client is the knowledge of the various Codes and Standards. It is paramount to have good knowledge of the British codes and beneficial to also have experience with NFPA. Activities Manage projects to achieve client satisfaction and profitability targets Work within team environment and be able to instruct engineers and support staff in their work as it relates to the projects under the Surveyors control control. Control own and staff activities to meet Company financial / time targets. Produce fee proposals Carry out on site surveys, including: •Surveys consisting of: New build external wall surveys. PAS 9980 surveys. Passive fire protection of both new and existing builds. Fire doors surveys. Passive fire protection surveys of new and existing buildings. Fire compartmentation surveys. Compliance assessment and understanding of the main British Fire Safety Legislation and standards applied to different building occupancies, such as Approved Document B (ADB), BS9999, BS9991 & BS7974 etc. Take a lead role with quality assurance processes and validation as required for the Fire Surveying and Fire Risk Assessment team. Review the design teams’ specification and drawings for fire safety systems to include: Cavity barriers and fire stopping Fire and smoke dampers Firefighting lifts and shafts Manage and value variations to the contract. Act professionally with all parties on the clients work so as to develop the company’s reputation. Achieve continued professional development in areas relevant to the achievement of personal objectives and as a contribution to those of the company. Contribute to the development of the company so as to enhance its reputation.
